Supporting weight loss or gain is futile if diet is the only thing we focus on. This session explores how somatic psychology helps us get to the emotional roots of our food habits while simultaneously incorporating balancing foods in order to help your body gain, lose, or balance its weight.
Luis teaches why we store fat by design (and how that's not your fault), how to release shame around the size of your body, and the important difference between a balanced diet and a healthy diet. He offers simple tools for helping your body interrupt its fat storage pattern and incorporate foods for healthy weight gain.
Luis is a trauma therapist, nutritionist, and has recovered from his own binging & purging eating disorder in addition to many health conditions such as being overweight, hypoglycemia, asthma, acne, and high cholesterol. He teaches this topic with great care, dignity, and through a trauma-informed lens.
